SETUP
Install and connect.
Start on Windows, then pair your Android companion over a private connection.
Install the Windows package
Requires Windows 10 or 11, Node.js 24+ and internet access. Download and verify the ZIP, then extract it to a new folder. Run
Install-Cobunity.cmdand follow the prompts.Requirements & installation permissions
You need Windows 10 or 11 and Node.js 24 or newer. If Node.js is missing, setup can install it through winget with your permission. Setup downloads application dependencies and Playwright Chromium, so internet access is required.
If Codex CLI is missing, setup asks before installing it. You can skip that step and use Claude or an API key instead. Windows may request consent when installing prerequisites.
Open Cobunity and keep your computer awake whenever you use the Android companion.
Connect both devices privately
Use Tailscale on your Windows PC and Android phone. In Cobunity, open Settings → Connections → Private remote access to find your private address.
Keep this connection private. Do not expose the Windows server directly to the public internet.
Install the Android companion
Download the APK on your phone and open it to install. Android may ask you to allow installation from the browser or file manager you used. You can turn that permission off afterward.
Earlier beta installed? The previous private beta has a different package identity. Install the new Cobunity app separately, then enter your private address and pair it with your Windows workspace.
Pair your phone
Open Cobunity on Android, enter your private address and complete device pairing when prompted.
Where your work lives
The Windows app hosts your conversations, local database, generated files and connected-folder access. Cloud model providers receive the task context needed to answer. The Android companion cannot connect when your PC is asleep, Cobunity is closed or the private connection is unavailable.
